If you’re new to this site, I always recommend beginners to start their POD journey with Printify. They have a wide range of products to choose from and offer competitive prices as items are sourced from multiple suppliers. You can choose which supplier to work with!
For candles specifically, as of now, Printify has 4 suppliers providing different types of candles. All candles on Printify are scented so it’s definitely a bonus you can leverage on as a seller to charge more.
- Advantages
- Offers 5 different candles with lids and without lids
- Candles come in 3 different sizes (9oz, 11oz, 13.75oz)
- Eco-friendly and non-toxic candles made of 100% natural soy wax blend
- Average candle burn time is 50-60 hours for 9oz and 70-80 hours for 13.75oz – varies for each product
- Wide range of other products you can sell together in your store alongside candles
- 4 suppliers to choose from including Candlebuilders

Most will compare Printify vs Printful for a lot of things. But when it comes to candles, Printify is leading with wider choices! I’ve decided to include Printful in this list even though they only offer a single type of jar candle.
Selling a single type of product can be great but also dangerous to your revenue. Although candles should get repeat purchases, it’s sometimes better to diversify your sales as your customers may grow bored of buying the same thing.
Maybe you can pair with another home decor product from Printful? Just an idea!

Similar to Printful, Gooten only offers a single type of candle with 9oz size. Gooten also works like Printify where products are printed by their partners all over the world.
To no surprise, the candle is sourced from the same supplier as two of the candles sold by Printify. So yours to choose!
I find signing up to Gooten a bit tricky for beginners, so the best bet is to stick to Printify if you’re new.

4. Contrado
A site where you can source print on demand candles and sell them on the platform itself is Contrado. You can become an artist and sell designs on Contrado’s marketplace or dropship candles using a different brand name via your own Shopify website.
If you’re looking for a print on demand candles UK-based company, Contrado should be your go-to. Although they’re based in the UK, they ship pretty fast to the USA too!
Aside from conventional candles, Contrado also offers candle jars and candle holders you can cross-sell in your store. The prices are slightly on the higher side compared to others in this list but I suspect it’s for the quality.

If you plan to solely focus on selling print on demand candles, Candlefy is one you should look into. You can even purchase their samples of 10 different scents for just $79.99 – pretty affordable too.
Unlike others before, Candlefy only ships within the USA so there isn’t much room to diversify. I do love their wide choices of premium looking candles though!
You can sell their chic ready designed candles or add your own designs to suit your brand.
- Advantages
- No traditional returns, provides refund or replacement for broken candles during delivery
- Orders are shipped out of California with USPS Priority shipping
- Cheaper shipping compared to Printify or Printful – $5.99 for first candle and $0.99 for each additional candle
- Made of clean aroma oils and premium natural non-toxic wax blend using coconut oil and apricot oil (much better than soy)
- Candles are sold in amber colored glass jar which will amplify the candle light when lit and creates an ambient environment compared to clear white glass

Unlike others in this list, Merchize is a print on demand company based in Vietnam with offices in both Singapore and the UK. They supply both local and international orders so that’s a good thing for you.
Although they only offer a single type of candle jar, Merchize also has two types of printed wooden candle holders with mini candles – the kind you would find at IKEA.
Their product prices and shipping charges (to the US) are competitive given that they’re based in Asia. I do find their candle burn time pretty low compared to others but it’s for you to try out!

Although Candlebuilders supply candles to both Printify and Gooten, it’s great that you can source the same candles from their own website too. Interested sellers can sign up for an account and sync their Shopify store to start selling Candlebuilders’ candles without going through Printify or Gooten.
I find prices to be cheaper this way but you won’t be able to sell anything else since candles are their only products. Selling through Candlebuilders limits your shipping to just the USA and Canada too, instead of worldwide.

- Able to integrate with your Shopify store for direct selling without going through Printify/Gooten

There’s quite a number of print on demand candle products you can find on Printed Mint, compared to others in this list. Some are even hand poured and the best thing is, selling Printed Mint’s candles lets you customize the shipping packaging to suit your brand.
I like that they provide different color variations for each type of candle – which also includes a change of lid color. They also sell premium looking amber candle jars just like Candlefy – unavailable anywhere else!

Not looking to sell on another platform or create your own ecommerce store? Zazzle allows you to sell print on demand candles on their own marketplace – they don’t offer any integrations.
Selling on marketplaces can reduce the time it takes for you to set up your business and get things rolling fast. However, competing with thousands of others with your products side to side may not be the ideal situation for a real business. Totally doable for a side hustle!

- Choose a niche for your designs
- Niching down is great to attract the right audience with your candle designs
- Some examples would be birthday months, gifting wishes or festivities
- Focus on your chosen niche for the next 100 designs!
- Do research on best selling and trendy designs
- Before making any designs, find out what’s working in the market
- A quick trick is to Google or search for them on Etsy
- Or use keyword research tools like Sale Samurai or Marmalead
- Make your own designs or outsource
- You can make your own designs using Kittl or Canva
- If you want to buy designs, get them on Creative Fabrica or Envato Elements
- Some important things to know are design file sizes and printing layout (if any)
- Sign up for an account with any of the sites I’ve listed above
- You’ll have to create an account with one of the sites I’ve mentioned above to start selling
- Choose one supplier that resonates to you the most with the right products you’ve envisioned for your business
- Upload designs to products
- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customer!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
- You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g. Etsy or Shopify before you’re able to sell so do that first
- Sync the ready product to your store to start selling them publicly
- Sites like Zazzle and Contrado has their own marketplace for you to sell your products – so you don’t need a separate store to use them
- Start selling and repeat!
- Repeat the process and eventually you’ll get some sales!
- Increase your chances of success by uploading more quality designs and bringing in traffic to your store with ads (if you’re not selling on a marketplace)
