Abby B. In a glance, tapestries look quite similar to blankets but it varies in thickness, size and purpose. While blankets are used to keep you warm, tapestries are meant to be used as hanging decoration on a room’s wall.
It’s the perfect item to decorate walls for those that don’t plan to stay at a property for long e.g. college dorms, or find it inconvenient to carry large wall art up the stairs e.g. apartments. Tapestries are foldable like a blanket to easily fit in any kind of bag and can be hanged just using a pair of nails.

1. Printify
Although it is slightly expensive than the second option, it has a faster turnaround time and better finishing. The hemmed edges are neater!
Here’s a sample of Printify’s indoor wall tapestry that I created using a design from Creative Fabrica. It’s a seamless pattern design so I just resized it to meet high resolution (120 DPI) and used Printify’s pattern function to have the prints repeat itself everywhere.
As tapestries are quite large in size, in this case (104″ x 88″), you’ll need an image that’s large enough so Printify detects your design as high resolution and it will come out clear (not blurred) when printed on the actual product.
2. Gooten
Similar to Printify, Gooten’s tapestries are made of 100% polyester and comes with hemmed edges for extra durability. You can imagine it as a blanket that’s placed up right on a wall!
Gooten only offers tapestries in four sizes compared to Printify so if you’re looking for smaller to medium sizes, Printify is definitely the option. I like that there are design templates (PSD and JPG) for each product so it’s super easy to start designing with Gooten.
However, you must be an experienced seller to register for an account on their site so I don’t usually recommend it for beginners. You’ll need to fill up a form stating your experience in print on demand before they approve your account!

3. Prodigi
Looking for an alternative for tapestries manufactured in the USA? You should check out Prodigi. Although they’re a UK-based POD company, some products are made in the USA.
Prices displayed are in British Pounds (GBP) but I find it comparable to Printify’s pricing. You can also enjoy wholesale discounts if ordering in large units.
Similar to Gooten, Prodigi only carries tapestries in four sizes. It’s nice to know that the edges are sewn by hand so you’re getting something a little unique. Tapestries are a part of Prodigi’s birthday collection so you’re certain of the quality when gifting someone special!
Prodigi is one of the few sites that offers a sample pack containing mini products for you to test out. Although it consists mostly paper products, it’s good to order one just to see their printing quality.

4. Redbubble
If you’re an artist that only wants to focus on selling your designs on tapestries but without the headache of running an ecommerce store, I recommend signing up on Redbubble or similar marketplaces to it.
Redbubble is probably the most popular POD marketplace and was the first site I made my first POD sale on. Their catalog is not as wide range as the ones seen on white label POD sites like Printify or Gooten, but for home decor, there’s quite a nice range to explore.
I like that it’s super easy to upload a single design to multiple products at once on Redbubble so if you’re tight on time, it’s definitely convenient!
Redbubble only offers three sizes for tapestries (S, M, L) and as a seller, you can fix the profit margin you’re looking to make for each product. Prices shown in picture below reflects the selling price customers pay.

5. Threadless
Compared to Redbubble, sellers don’t have a say of how much they can charge for a product on Threadless. So you’ll find that products are priced equally across the board – which can reduce price competition (great)!
If you think that Threadless’ tapestries are cheaper than Redbubble’s, the prices seen in the image below only reflects the selling price for the smallest sized tapestry – which is in fact smaller than Redbubble’s S-sized tapestry.
Threadless also carries three tapestry sizes but they’re much smaller than the ones offered on Redbubble – list down below. The product comes with a ready grommet attached to all four corners for customers to hang them easily.

6. Zazzle
Want to find the sweet spot between selling on a marketplace and selling with white label sites that lets you customize? You should check out Zazzle – one of the marketplaces that allows customers to personalize their POD orders.
Aside from selling single printed tapestry, Zazzle also lets customers purchase tapestries in a set of two or three. However, the sets are only available for the small-sized tapestry.
Their small tapestries can come attached to an open wooden frame and twine that for you to hang easily. Just choose between a vertical or horizontal orientation!
Here’s a sample of wall tapestry I personalized on Zazzle. The design is sold by another seller but as a customer, you can personalize the details printed on the product. For this item, you can change the name, event greeting and dates.

7. Contrado
Ordering custom printed tapestry on Contrado is slightly different than the ones I’ve shared above. On Contrado, tapestries are sold based on your custom dimensions (any size) and you can choose different types of fabric based on your preference – list down below.
Contrado is primarily based in the UK but has printing facilities in the USA, hence prices are displayed in USD. Orders are typically shipped in 1-2 days of ordering and there’s express shipping option for US addresses as fast as 1-2 days (post manufacturing).
The different types of fabric for their tapestries reflect the different needlepoint counts or stitch counts. A person that loves sewing would know the difference and how it impacts printing on the final product.
Anyhow, you’ll definitely get a unique tapestry compared to others that just uses normal fabric!

Similar to Contrado, Bags Of Love’s tapestry is made on custom basis according to your custom dimensions. So you can get a large sized tapestry for a big space or a small one for your desk area – entirely yours to decide!
If you’re looking for a print on demand tapestry UK-based company, Bags Of Love should be your go-to. They’re another brand under Contrado but operates primarily in London and ships all orders from there.
Just like what you see in the image below, BOL’s tapestries are embroidered using the same needlepoint fabric as Contrado. The material is made of 100% cotton canvas and you can choose between four tapestry counts.
Their delivery rates for orders within the UK is also pretty decent, compared to their international delivery charges hence why I don’t recommend using them if you’re not based in the UK.

Looking for a fulfillment based in Asia that has cheaper pricing? I recommend Merchize – a print on demand company based in Vietnam.
Merchize’s catalog is quite extensive with mostly all over print on demand products, including home decor and accessories. You can enjoy a bigger profit margin by sourcing from companies from Asia (mostly cheaper) but there would be increased risk especially for shipping times.
For tapestries, Merchize carries four sizes (list down below) and all are priced above $20 as it includes standard shipping charges. Their largest size is still smaller than the one on Printify but you may want to consider it if you’re only planning to purchase a single unit and not subscribe to Printify Premium for additional cost savings.

If you’re keen on sourcing tapestries from a company that manufactures in the USA, you might want to explore Teelaunch. They’re widely known in the print on demand industry as most products are shipped directly from America.
The only downside is that you can only print tapestries in two sizes – which is neither small or large. Just like most, Teelaunch prints on 100% polyester fabric that’s finished with hemmed edges.
Aside from tapestries, you may like Teelaunch’s collection of custom printed metal signs, sports equipment or engraved wooden chopping boards. These are three rare products I find interesting on their site!

Teepublic is quite similar to Redbubble, Threadless and Zazzle as it is a marketplace for artists to join and sell their art on (without much headache).
They only offer a total of six items in the category of home goods and all are fairly easy to design, even for beginners in print on demand. This includes wall art, mugs, pillows, tote bags and enamel pins!
Tapestries on Teepublic are priced quite the same as the ones on Redbubble so there’s no huge reason to favor one against the other. However, Teepublic carries smaller sizes just like Threadless so if you want larger ones, you’ll have to head to Redbubble.
If you’re an artist, I would recommend joining as many print on demand marketplaces as possible in the beginning of your POD journey just so you can get greater exposure and identify which platform suits you the best.

If you love the sizing options available on Printify but want to source something cheaper? Yoycol is definitely the answer!
Almost everything on Yoycol is shipped from China so just like Merchize, you will have to factor in the longer shipping times (10-20 days to the USA and Europe). The great thing is product prices are much much lower so you’ll enjoy greater savings especially when ordering in bulk.
There are seven sizes for you to choose from when designing your tapestries and Yoycol’s sizes are not standardized like others so be sure to read carefully.

Another unique print on demand marketplace you should explore as an artist or someone who loves home decor is Society6. They have a long list of home items and furniture to offer such as coffee tables and stools!
The only downside is not all items can be shipped overseas and can only be purchased for US addresses.
One thing that varies about marketplaces is the type of designs that are sold on the site. You can immediately see that designs on Redbubble, Threadless and Teepublic are quite the same. Society6 also has a specific target market for their designs which may not resonate with everyone.
So as an artist, you’ll have to consider that factor before signing up to a platform!
Society6 offers tapestries in four sizes and prices are similar to the ones sold on Redbubble. If you’re ordering a tapestry to place behind your bed (above your head), you should consider ones that are wider than the dimensions of your bed’s headboard – so it looks good.

- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customers!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
- You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g. Etsy or Shopify before you’re able to sell so do that first
- Sync the ready product to your store to start selling them publicly
- Sites like Redbubble, Zazzle and Threadless have their own marketplace for you to sell your products – so you don’t need a separate store to use them
- Start selling and repeat!
- Repeat the process and you’ll get some sales with time!
- Increase your chances of success by uploading more quality designs and using professional mockup tools like Placeit
- Consider bringing in traffic to your store with ads (if you’re not selling on a marketplace)
