Going with a desk mat or mouse pad that’s lined all around would also enhance durability and ensure your products last longer. You can order your own designed products on Printify just to them out before publishing it to your store.
Here’s a sample of Printify’s desk mat I created using a design I downloaded on Creative Fabrica. It’s a transparent image so I chose a yellow background color in Printify’s design studio to go with it. There’s about 21 colors for you to choose and you can even add a HEX code to get other colors.
A perfect gift for all the early risers and hustlers to not forget their breakfast!
2. Printful
There’s only two types of mouse pads you can design on Printful which covers the basic range. Their regular mouse pad is slightly smaller than the ones on Printify but they’re actually pricier. Even if you subscribed to their Printful Growth plan, you can only save about 7% on product cost.
On the good side, their gaming mouse pads come in two sizes compared to Printify’s (only one size) so you can choose one that fits your desk and budget best.
I find it helpful that you can read individual product reviews for almost all items sold on Printful. Some of these ratings may even include photos of products designed by others to give you a better idea of how your orders will turn out.
Here’s a sample of Printful’s mouse pad I designed without uploading any images. I simply chose one of their pattern quick designs, added some text and changed some colors. You can definitely do this even if you’ve never designed anything.

3. Gooten
If you have a ready ecommerce shop and prior experience in print on demand, consider sourcing your products from Gooten. They require new sellers to fill up a form detailing their POD experience for them to approve or disapprove your account opening.
For desk mats, there’s only a single type you can design with Gooten but it comes in four rectangular sizes (10×16″, 12×18″, 14×24″, 18×36″). You can also design regular mouse pads if you’re looking for something smaller or gamer mouse pads if you love having black sewn edges for a neat finishing.
Compared to Printify, Gooten’s desk mats are made with a soft neoprene top and is also pretty balance in thickness at 1/8″ – which translates to just 0.3 centimeters!
Aside from desk mats, you can sell your designs on Gooten’s other desk accessories like stationeries, notebooks, acrylic blocks, pouches and calendars. Cross-sell these products in your store to increase average order value.

4. Prodigi
Looking for a print on demand company to sell in the UK? You can source both mouse mats and gaming mats on Prodigi.
Although there’s only a single size for you to customize, they’re both made of neoprene with anti-slip backing, finished with black overlocked seams and 0.3cm in thickness. The black edges make it extra durable and goes well with dark colored designs.
Most products on Prodigi are shipped from the UK and wholesale prices can be enjoyed from as low as £6 for mouse mats and £18 for gaming mats, respectively. You’ll just need to bear with a slightly long production time of 120 hours (about 5 days).
Prodigi is one of the few sites that offers mini sample products for you to test out. The pack consists of mainly paper products but it’s good to get one just to see their printing quality.

5. Threadless
If you’re not planning to open an Etsy shop or learn how to use Shopify (pretty complicated for a beginner), selling on POD marketplaces like Threadless is a quick way to start testing your business. You’ll only need to sign up for a seller account, upload your designs to products and just want for sales to come in.
Although there’s usually less product options on marketplaces, you should be fine if you’re just planning to sell desk mats or mouse pads. Both are available on Threadless and comes with a black stitched edge.
As it is made using neoprene material, it can support both optical and laser mice to avoid lags. You can also take the opportunity to sell the same designs on other kinds of products. It’s always easier to test using marketplaces instead of an Etsy shop due to Etsy fees (there’s a lot).
For orders above $99, you don’t have to pay anything for shipping within the US.

6. Redbubble
One of the more popular POD marketplace you can join is Redbubble – it was also the first one I signed up to and made sales with. There were so many people recommending the site back then, so as a beginner it only made sense for me to try it out.
Good thing is, there’s also a lot of resources online for you to learn from, especially YouTube tutorials. What I liked most about Redbubble is that it is super easy to upload one design to multiple products with just a few clicks. Your store should be filled with new designs within minutes!
For desk accessories, there’s both mouse pads and desk mats for you to design on Redbubble. They come with anti-slip rubber bottom, anti-fray edges (the black borders) and pill-resistant surface so they don’t feel too weary even after a long time.
As someone that works from home and uses my work desk for more than 6 hours per day, this is super important! Their mouse pads are available in two sizes so your customers are able to choose one that’s suitable for their desk.

7. Printed Mint
There are two types of mouse pads and desk mats you can sell with Printed Mint. I like that you can design round mouse pads as well as rectangle ones. Not all the sites in this list offer round mouse pads!
Printed Mint is one of the fulfillments on Printify but as you can see, not all their products are listed on Printify’s catalog. So, if you like Printed Mint’s product and they’re not available on Printify, you’ll have to source it directly from their site.
Good thing is, Printed Mint offers integration with Etsy and Shopify – the two common platforms for POD.
You’ll also benefit from their custom packaging options where you get to customize product labels, choose colors of crinkle paper (that goes into a box) and ribbon styles to match your brand. Makes your desk mats and mouse pads stand out even more!

If you’re keen on starting your print on demand journey by selling on a marketplace, I recommend uploading your designs on multiple marketplaces. It’s best to diversify your income streams as you don’t know which one would make you a sale for a particular day.
It’s not an issue to begin with as most marketplaces don’t have exclusive rights to your design. So make use of it!
Although there’s only a single type of mouse pad you can sell on CafePress, it’s cool that they allow your customers to personalize their design. Some designs can only fit an initial (single letter) while others can fit in a few letters – sample down below.
Product price is pretty cheap on CafePress even without an ongoing sale so that’s one great benefit. Ultimately, you should only compare the prices with another POD marketplace (like Redbubble) instead of a white-label POD company.

Think there’s too few choices of desk mats and mouse pads on POD marketplaces? Think again! Zazzle is known for their wide range of print on demand products which includes luggage tags, cutting boards and even custom printed espadrilles.
Their selection of desk mats and mouse pads is quite comparable to the ones on Printify.
Instead of just personalizing to include initials or names, some designs on Zazzle even allows you to add a few words or a custom image to your design. This makes it an ideal platform to sell on if you’re planning to sell with the idea of gifting others.
What’s better than being able to place your designs on multiple products as a seller? Allowing your customers to place designs on products of their choice! With Zazzle, there’s recommendations of what products can go with a particular design to encourage a customer’s purchase.

Just like most, Contrado offers both desk pads and mouse mats. Both products are only made in a single size and comes in a rectangular shape. Their mouse mats are thicker than others with a 0.6cm thickness (compared to the usual 0.3cm).
I would recommend using Contrado if you’re looking to design products for your own use or to gift your loved ones. Their quality is top notch but prices are definitely on the higher end. You’ll also get to enjoy the fast production and shipping times if you need it fast.
Contrado typically ships orders in under two days of receiving your order and you can upgrade to express shipping (for US addresses only) to get your products in 1-2 days (post manufacturing)!

If you’re looking for a print on demand UK company to design your desk mats or mouse pads with, consider working with Bags Of Love. As they’re a brand under Contrado, you can expect the same level of quality as well as premium pricing.
Good thing is, your products are made locally in the UK and shipped using Royal Mail. You can also pay for your orders in GBP (British Pounds) instead of USD by accessing to their UK website.
Similar to Contrado, BOL offers mouse pads and desk pads that you can customize – including creating a photo collage using their ready collage templates. Photo collage mouse pads or desk mats are kinda outdated but they still make great gifts for your friends and colleagues – as long as you know they would use them.
Alternatively, you can even make photo collage with pictures of cats if that’s something their into!

Even though Merchize does not have desk pads, you can design mouse pads with them in four varying rectangular sizes, plus a single rounded one. Price for rectangle mouse pads vary from $8.20 for small to $12.30 for an extra large – and their prices include standard shipping.
Work desk can come in all shapes and form so its definitely an advantage to be designing mouse pads in multiple sizes. With the rise of small homes, there will be a rise in smaller sized furniture!
Bear in mind that both their rectangle and round mouse pads are printed in China and only shipped to the US.

Looking for an even more cheaper alternative to Merchize? HugePOD offers both desk mats and mouse pads at only $7.86 and $3.10 respectively.
Highly recommend going with HugePOD if you’re planning to order products in large quantities as you can save up to 20% with their bulk discounts. This would definitely make sense if you have a physical shop or an online commerce website where you ship orders manually yourself.
However, before jumping to anything, you’ll need to consider shipping charges. As HugePOD is based in China, their shipping fee can be quite a chunk. For desk mats like the ones below, you’ll need to pay an extra $10.98 for shipping to the USA which would take 7-10 days to arrive.

If you want to save on shipping charges when selling in the US, it’s wise to stick to US-based fulfillment companies like Teelaunch. They ship their custom mousepads from Pennsylvania and California for only $4.75 within the USA.
Their mousepads are also fairly priced at only $5.25 per piece!
Although there’s only one size you can sell, Teelaunch still provides design templates for you to download and refer to when designing. The product does not come with black stitched edges but is still finished with a soft protective rubber backing.

Another print on demand marketplace worth checking out is Spreadshirt. They have much lesser products than Zazzle but is quite comparable to Redbubble.
Remember to go through the seller or artist T&C before starting your shop as not all marketplaces reward artists equally. Some provides a maximum commission of 10% with fixed pricing while others allow you to set your own prices and/or profit margins.
Spreadshirt’s mousepads are printed and shipped from the USA so shipping is fast if you’re selling mainly to US-based audience. If you’re interested in getting samples of your own products, place a normal order and make use of the 30-day return timeframe to get a refund if you don’t want to keep it.
Your customers can choose between three types of shipping on Spreadshirt. The standard shipping charges for mousepads start at $3.99 for orders to arrive in four days and the express one gets you your order in just two days (for $29.99).

- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customers!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
- You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g. Etsy or Shopify before you’re able to sell so do that first
- Sync the ready product to your store to start selling them publicly
- Sites like Redbubble, Zazzle and Threadless have their own marketplace for you to sell your products – so you don’t need a separate store to use them
- Start selling and repeat!
- Repeat the process and you’ll get some sales with time!
- Increase your chances of success by uploading more quality designs and using professional mockup tools like Placeit
- Consider bringing in traffic to your store with ads (if you’re not selling on a marketplace)
