Spread the love

Are you looking to sell print on demand towels? Looking for a suitable supplier for your dream product? Here’s 13 sites to use!

Towels are probably one of the easiest products to design with print on demand. I would recommend it equally as much as blankets, flags and yoga mats. Even if you’re a total beginner with no real experience in designing, you can’t go wrong with towels.

In this article, I’ll be sharing 13 fulfillment sites you can use to design custom printed towels and the types of towels they offer. To make things easier, I’ve also included their list of integrations and other home products you can sell.

13 Print On Demand Towels Fulfillment Sites

1. Printify

I’d always recommend to people starting out with print on demand to try using Printify first. Aside from their huge collection of products and integration options that’s super helpful, using Printify would allow you to understand better how POD works without going through much hassle.

For towels, you can design 11 kinds on their site (full list down below) and it includes the usual beach towels and tea towels. Their towels are priced from just $7 and goes up to $30, this varies due to the size of products and type of material used.

Another great benefit of using Printify is that it’s cheaper than most print on demand sites. Plus, you can save more by subscribing to Printify Premium – save about 23% on product cost by paying about $24.99 per month.

You should only do so if the monthly profit you’re making is able to cover the cost! Check out my pricing analysis of Printify against Printful here – if you don’t believe me.

Here’s a sample of a print on demand beach towel I created on Printify using a design I downloaded on Creative Fabrica. I uploaded a single image, resized it to be smaller (about 1/25 of the product for high resolution) and used Printify’s pattern tool to make the design repeating.

2. Printful

Although there isn’t as many options for towels on Printful, you can still design ones perfect for a wardrobe. Their sublimated towels are suitable for bathing while their Turkish cotton towels are great to use for hair and face.

You’ll have a choice between getting printed towels or embroidered ones. There’s also a few color choices for Printful’s hand towels and cotton towels. Bear in mind, the digitization fee for embroidery designs on Printful starts from $3.95 (text-only).

In just a glance, it’s obvious that towels are slightly more expensive on Printful compared to Printify (even with the Printful Growth subscription). However, in deciding, you’ll need to consider other factors like print quality, type of printing, product size, reviews if available and shipping charges.

It really helps to read real reviews from other users when browsing Printful’s catalog. I personally love reading reviews before making any online purchases.

Here’s a sample of the dashboard when designing custom printed towels on Printful. I chose one of their quick designs that’s suitable for festivities, changed some colors to my liking. No image was uploaded – easy!

It’s really helpful that Printful has a library of quick designs that can be used for all their products. It makes it easy for non-graphic-designers to get something nice customized. You can also add text, clipart and premium graphics (paid) using their design studio.

3. Inkthreadable

If you’re based in UK and looking to order something that’s made in the country, consider exploring Inkthreadable. They have a good range of apparel products to offer including sportswear, eco-friendly clothing and vegan ones.

There’s no options for embroidered towels on Inkthreadable but you can design sublimated or DTG ones. Their beach towels are available in a standard white color while tea towels come in three colors (black, natural and white).

Working with Inkthreadable will allow you to get your orders faster as their local shipping uses Royal Mail (48 or 24). Although GBP (British Pounds) is the main currency, you can change it to other seven currencies on the top right corner of the site and have the option to show prices with or without VAT.

4. Gooten

Like what you see on Printify but want to work with a different fulfillment company? You should check out Gooten. I usually recommend it to seasoned print on demand sellers as you’re required to include some information on your selling experience when signing up for an account.

For towels, you can design beach towels, bath towels as well as hooded baby towels on Gooten (they make awesome gifts for newborns and is something different than just baby clothes). The sizing for bath towels is quite standardized across most fulfillments at 30″x60″ and you can only place your designs on one side of the towel.

Although towels are fairly easy to design, Gooten still provides templates for you to download in PSD and JPG format. It would be wise to refer to the templates before making your designs so no area is left out!

5. Prodigi

If you’re only planning to design a single type of towel, Prodigi is a great fulfillment to work with. They only carry beach towels and its available in two sizes (70x140cm, 80x160cm). I would personally get both as I find it convenient to have different towels for different parts of your body – especially for people with longer hair!

You can cross-sell other products like flip flops, picnic blankets or even tank tops in your store to increase average order value. Even though Prodigi prints most of their products in the UK, they ship worldwide and offers wholesale pricing (from £13.00 for print on demand beach towels).

They’re one of the few sites that offers mini sample products for you to test out. It consists of mostly paper products and no towels but it’s still nice to get one just to see their printing quality.

6. CustomCat

CustomCat may not seem like a lot at first but they carry an impressive line of apparels and about three types of print on demand towels!

Their bath towels are slightly larger than the ones seen on Gooten and although comparable in size to Printify’s polycotton towels, it’s actually cheaper! This is the case even after comparing against the price you’ll get with Printify Premium.

If you didn’t know, you can also save on product cost by signing up for CustomCat Pro. The subscription is about $30 per month and you’ll enjoy about 20-40% off the normal pricing (varies). Extra savings!

The same bath towels can be used outdoors when you’re at the beach or poolside. For maximum print vibrancy and durability, I suggest sticking to dark colors as your base as towels tend to fade in color after some time.

7. Zazzle

Want to design your custom towels and sell them on a POD marketplace? Don’t want to go through the hassle of setting up a separate ecommerce store? You should sign up as a seller on Zazzle.

Compared to other marketplaces, Zazzle has a wider range of products and offers a few ways for your customers to personalize their orders. Personalization varies for every product but as a seller, you’ll only need to make designs and set up areas to allow customers to personalize.

The platform is super easy to use as you can make a single product listing with different color options. Customers can also see these details when going through Zazzle’s catalog and know which product can be personalized.

Their beach towels are the same size as the ones on CustomCat and printing is done on the front polyester side. The back side is usually made of cotton to make it soft and absorbent.

Here’s a snapshot of a beach towel I personalized on Zazzle. The design was sold by another seller but you can choose the base color you want and include some text based on your preference.

8. Cloudprinter

Another site you can explore to just sell beach towels is Cloudprinter. Although they’re based in Europe, Cloudprinter works with multiple printing companies worldwide so that they can deliver your orders from the nearest printing location.

Most products offered on Cloudprinter are largely paper-based – this includes photo books, postcards, stickers as well as calendars. However, you can find a few other home products to design like blankets, tote bags, mousepads, mugs, pillows and puzzles.

Their beach towels are available in five sizes from 11″x19″ to 39″x59″. Some are slightly square while most are made rectangular. You can choose between one with a black color base or the usual white.

I like that their product pages are clear and concise with the right information for you to make a decision. Just like Gooten, they also provide design templates for you to download but it’s only available in Adobe Illustrator or PDF formats.

9. Contrado

If you’re looking to order custom designed towels for yourself and don’t mind paying higher for greater quality, Contrado is the one for you. On some of their products like rugs, there’s printing guarantees for up to 10 years!

You can design a few types of towels on Contrado including ones that come in a set. These would make cool gifts for birthdays, weddings and even house warming parties. The pack contains two pieces of bath and hand towels each, where you can design them individually and choose colors for the binding material (from four options).

Intrigued by their strip towels? They’re actually normal microfiber cotton towels with a printed strip of shiny Duchess satin across the top. Instead of designing the entire towel, you’ll only be placing your designs on the printed strip.

Sounds pretty fancy to me!

Contrado typically ships in 1-2 days after receiving your orders and you can pay extra for express shipping within the US to get your package in 1-2 days (post manufacturing).

10. Merchize

Need to source custom bath towels at a cheaper price? You can order them directly from Vietnam with Merchize. Most of their products are priced together with standard shipping to the USA and you’ll only have to pay a little bit more if you’re based anywhere else.

Merchize carries one type of bath towel that can be printed on one side (the polyester part), leaving the absorbent cotton side blank. The product is similar to the one seen on Gooten as it’s only available in one size (30″x60″).

Sourcing products directly from Asia for each of your orders can be quite tough especially as a newbie. Shipping may take some time – about 4-7 business days to the US and 10-20 days for Europe. I would recommend international fulfillments if you’re a highly experienced in print on demand and able to manage customer’s expectations on shipping times.

11. Printed Mint

If you like what you see on Printify, you may want to work with Printed Mint. They’re one of the major fulfillments supplying products on Printify but not all items are displayed on the site. Printed Mint’s catalog definitely has more to offer (and sometimes cheaper) but you can only integrate your seller account to Etsy and Shopify.

So if you’re selling on any other platforms like Wix or WooCommerce, using Printify might be a better idea!

For towels, I personally like their yoga mat towels and golf towels. Both are quite similar as they’re made using a mixture of cotton, polyester and microfiber polyester. The golf towels are much smaller but includes a brass clip ring at one corner so it’s easily hung when golfing or doing outdoor activities.

One thing unique about Printed Mint is that you can customize some details for your packaging including custom product labels, the colors of crinkle paper (that goes into a box) and ribbon styles. These are amazing add-ons for towels especially when gifting loved ones.

12. Threadless

An alternative to selling on Zazzle is to become an artist on Threadless. There’s much less choices for towels compared to Zazzle but it’s slightly more straightforward marketplace to use – especially if you don’t love Zazzle for it’s complexity.

Threadless only has a single type of beach towel to offer but it comes in two sizes – 30″x60″ and 36″x72″. The larger option is great for when you’re selling to Western countries. For $9-$10 more, it’s not a bad bargain!

Product prices are standardized across all sellers/artists on Threadless so you don’t expect bad competition. Just sign up for an account, upload designs and wait for sales as it happens all in a single site. You don’t need a separate ecommerce store to start selling.

13. HugePOD

If you loved Merchize but want more options of towels to design, check out HugePOD. It has two additional choices to the usual bath towels so you can design hand and beach towels as well.

Although prices are much lower, HugePOD does not include shipping charges like Merchize. Standard shipping to the USA for their beach towels would incur a charge of $9 which makes it quite equal to Merchize’s prices.

It would make a lot more sense to go with HugePOD if you’re planning to purchase custom towels in large quantities as there’s tiered bulk discounts for you to enjoy. Ordering at least 100 units mean 20% off product prices!

Of course, before proceeding with your order, do consult their team for best shipping arrangements.

  6. Set a suitable profit margin for each product
    • On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design

    • This excludes shipping charges to customers!
  7. Sync them to your ecommerce store
    • You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g. Etsy or Shopify before you’re able to sell so do that first

Hey there! Abby here - the founder of Passive Marketeer and also the main writer on the site. My love for ecommerce and online marketing was something I found through my 9-5 sales job. It was mind boggling at first that we're able to make an income online passively in today's world! If you're still feeling that way, know that you're not alone.

That's why, I decided to help others by sharing findings through my own research on today's ecommerce world. When I'm not writing, I'm either running my online biz, traveling, cooking or gardening.
