Wondering what are some options you have for print on demand NZ? Looking for the fastest fulfillment in New Zealand? Here are 11 sites to look into!

As someone who has lived in some parts of Asia, I get the frustration of super long shipping times when sourcing items from the US or Europe. It gets even worse when you’re doing so for an online business and have to face customers when things get delayed.

In this article, I’ll be sharing 11 print on demand NZ based sites you can use for your business with a list of products they offer. To make things easier for you, I’ve also included a step-by-step guide on how you can start a print on demand business down below.

11 Best Print On Demand New Zealand Fulfillment

1. Printify

I recommend Printify in most of my product guides and there’s a couple of reasons why. One of the main ones is their network of printing partners across the world. So even if you’re mainly selling to an audience in New Zealand, you should still expect great shipping experience with Printify.

Shipping rates vary across their printing partners and you should be able to check them here. While you may have to face long shipping times for some suppliers or products, it’s always better to work with larger and more popular companies – for reasons like better overall customer service and reputation.

Here’s a sample of a sweatshirt I created on Printify using a design from Creative Fabrica. It’s a simple quote design so it stands out when paired with a tie-dye outfit.

2. Printful

If you love Printify, you’ll also love Printful. There’s a ton of products to choose from and they ship worldwide (from mostly their own printing facilities). Printful integrates with a wide range of platforms and marketplaces so you won’t have any headache deciding on one – I’ve listed down below.

Wish to keep some stock of your own products? Printful offers better bulk pricing discounts compared to Printify. You can order in bulk and save on shipping by having it shipped to one location in New Zealand then just manage sales on your own.

If you’re unsure of what are the best products for NZ print on demand with Printful, you can filter out your selling/shipping preferences to New Zealand. You’ll then find similar results to the ones in the picture below – there are estimations for delivery to NZ.

This is a sample I created for Printful’s unisex lightweight t-shirt using one of their quick designs – no file was uploaded on my part, I only changed the color schemes to my liking. If you’re planning to sell print on demand t-shirts in NZ, this is one of the best products to go with when using Printful (est. delivery is 10-13 days!).

3. Gelato

Gelato works pretty much like Printify – by having multiple printing partners all over the world, their production risk is better diversified. They produce locally in over 33 different countries worldwide and work with New Zealand Post for even faster shipping!

When browsing Gelato’s product catalog, you’ll be able to see the number of countries an individual product is fulfilled in. Their classic unisex crewneck t-shirt (sample down below), is fulfilled in 15 countries including New Zealand and Australia.

Thanks to the local production, shipping charges for Australia and NZ is only $6.32 (first item), which is in the acceptable range (worldwide at $10.86!).

I’ve made a simple reference for you on how the dashboard would look like when designing Gelato’s classic unisex crewneck t-shirt (produced in NZ). There are two printing options which includes the usual DTG or embroidery – my sample shows the latter.

This cute cat design was also from Creative Fabrica – search for “cute cat icon clipart”.

Afraid of committing yourself to a fulfillment without knowing their quality? You can order a free sample pack from Prodigi. It comprises a set of their best selling art papers with the same printing quality as your customers will get. They ship it to you for free even if you’re in New Zealand!

If you’re extra concerned about your orders travelling across the world, express shipping allows trackability (a tracking link is emailed to you once shipped). Don’t worry too much as Prodigi works with 50 manufacturing partners in over 10 countries worldwide.

5. The Print Room

Looking for a printing company that’s based in New Zealand only? The Print Room might be the one you’re looking for. They offer both screen printing and embroidery across popular merchandise items like t-shirts, jackets, caps and even tote bags.

The Print Room provides dropship and fulfilment service by holding your inventory and shipping each order to your customer. This works pretty much like print on demand as API is used to integrate with your e-commerce store. It’s a bit more manual compared to the options I’ve listed above but it’s great that they ship nationwide across New Zealand!

6. Print Poppa

If you’re unsure about setting up your own ecommerce store, Print Poppa allows you to create a webstore with them. You can choose to use their subdomain as your store’s URL or use your own web address. There is no minimum order amount and you can order just one 1 unit if that’s all you need.

Print Poppa ships to both North and South island from $6.90 NZD for shipping of 1-2 items. Shipping charges are calculated by quantity of items instead of weight so it’s pretty reasonable (especially if you’re selling heavier products like hoodies).

7. Speedy Print

Not really looking to sell t-shirts or bags? You can sell art prints instead with Speedy Print. Their main products are revolving around brochures, business cards and cards – but they’re offering something different for print on demand. You’ll have to pay an initial $25 fee to set-up which is refundable upon your first sale and orders can be shipped directly to your customers.

Aside from print on demand, you can choose to sell your final products with Speedy Print, both via instore (their physical store in New Zealand) and online. Only pay their sellers fee once a sale is made.

8. Contrado

If there’s a reason I’d recommend Contrado, it’s mainly the long list of products they offer (see below). You can run an entire print on demand business with their dropshipping model or purchase items in bulk beforehand to save on cost and time.

Products are slightly expensive compared to others in this list but it’s well worth it for the quality and service you’re getting. Some items come with a 10-year printing guarantee! Although items are made and shipped from the UK, it’s great to know that most international orders are delivered within 3-5 days.

Aside from selling their products on your ecommerce stores and focusing on just New Zealand, you can sell your designs on their marketplace as well and target a wider audience.

9. Digitees

Similar to Print Poppa, you can set up a free webstore on Digitees as well. There are no setup fees and all you need to do is fill up a form to register. Just like Print Poppa, your free webstore URL is created as a subdomain of Digitees – which isn’t that great for branding if you ask me. But it’s a start!

All products are printed in New Zealand and once ready, can be delivered overnight to your customer’s doorsteps. If you’re unsure how a particular product might turn out, order a sample before committing anything as their minimum order is 1 unit.

10. Print Mighty

There aren’t a lot of products you can sell with Print Mighty but you should still check them out if you’re serious about t-shirt printing in New Zealand. Shipping within NZ starts at $5.50 for a single shirt across the country and if you need them in a large volume, consider picking up your orders from their factory in Kapiti at no extra charge.

You can also create a webstore with Print Mighty, just like what Print Poppa and Digitees offer. It’s not something I’ve seen with other global POD fulfillments but it might just be a popular thing for print on demand NZ!

11. VistaPrint

Although VistaPrint is based in Europe, they have printing facilities in Victoria (Australia) that ships to New Zealand using NZ Post. You can even enjoy free standard shipping for orders above $75 but will need to bear custom fees for orders over NZ$400 collectively.

Tracking details are provided when order is shipped so you don’t have to worry. They’re a well-known merchandise printing brand so you can also expect great quality for products and printing. There are individual product reviews for you to go through before placing your order!

VistaPrint offers bulk discounts on most of their products and some requires no minimum quantity. They don’t offer any integrations but with zero MOQ, it’s comparable to most POD sites above.

Hey there! Abby here - the founder of Passive Marketeer and also the main writer on the site. My love for ecommerce and online marketing was something I found through my 9-5 sales job. It was mind boggling at first that we're able to make an income online passively in today's world! If you're still feeling that way, know that you're not alone.

That's why, I decided to help others by sharing findings through my own research on today's ecommerce world. When I'm not writing, I'm either running my online biz, traveling, cooking or gardening.
