1. Printify
If jackets is one of the things you plan to sell in your print on demand store, I recommend going with Printify. It’s super beginner-friendly as product prices are reasonable, catalog is huge, there’s a lot of integration options and the site is easy to use.
For jackets, Printify carries puffer jackets and bomber jackets with different sizing for both men and women. Puffer jackets are highly sought after for the colder seasons while bomber jackets are suitable for spring and autumn.
Printify’s jackets are all over print, which means you can design the entire product with no space left unattended. You don’t have to be uploading a single image and stretching it to fit as there are four areas you can design individually including both sleeves.
Here’s a sample of Printify’s bomber jacket I created using a design I downloaded from Creative Fabrica. I intentionally made the sleeves pink just to show that you can customize different parts of the jacket (I agree it’s a little tacky).
You can add images to the front side, back side, right sleeves and left sleeves. Click “all areas” to see an overview of all the designs you uploaded.

2. Printful
People are always comparing Printify against Printful as they are two of the most popular POD companies in the market. There’s certainly a lot of things you can compare when using them as they are very similar but the biggest factor should be pricing – check out my pricing analysis of Printify against Printful here.
When comparing jackets, it’s quite obvious that Printify has more options for all-over-print jackets while Printful offers greater choices for embroidered ones.
There’s usually an extra charge or “digitization fee” when uploading a design for embroidery for the first time. Printful’s charges is quite reasonable at only $3.95 for text-only designs and $6.50 for other kinds of designs.
You’ll also need to ensure that your embroidery designs only contain a maximum of six colors from the list of thread colors they provide (there’s 15 colors to choose from). You can find them at the end of each embroidered product page.
Here’s a sample of a unisex bomber jacket I created on Printful using their quick designs. No images were uploaded! I simply chose a quick design and customized some colors.
Just like Printify’s bomber jacket, you can add different images and layers to five areas on Printful’s all over print bomber jacket. This includes the front side, the back side, the right sleeves and the left sleeves.
You can also change colors of the pockets edges and the elastic part at the bottom – both intentionally made light turquoise in the pictures below. 3. Gooten
Gooten is a good choice for experienced print on demand sellers that are looking for a good selection of products, similar to the ones on Printify. The site prioritizes users with a ready shop to sell on as they require you to state your level of experience when signing up for an account.
You’ll receive an email on whether your application is approved. But don’t worry, you can reapply any time.
For jackets, there’s only one type you can design with Gooten. It’s a unisex windbreaker jacket that’s suitable for outdoor use when the wind can be unbearable. So if you’re into selling outdoor gears like sportswear, umbrella or hiking shoes, you should be selling these too!
Your designs can be printed on the front side (left or right) or the back side. Just bear in mind that there’s usually an extra charge for printing on more than one side.

4. CustomCat
For a print on demand site that doesn’t seem to have a lot of products, CustomCat has a good selection of jackets as well as apparels. Most of their clothing wear is printed using CustomCat’s exclusive DIGISOFT method which is said to be more vibrant, true-to-color and longer lasting.
I personally like their fleece lined hooded jackets as it’s much more thicker than the usual ones. Keeps you warm and cozy in the colder seasons for a reasonable $40!
There are also no options for bomber jackets on CustomCat so their selection is pretty much geared towards utility wear instead of fashion. Although their catalog seems boring at first with mostly black colored jackets, you should click on the product you’re interested in to see other color options available.
CustomCat’s fleece lined hooded jackets are available in four colors and 10 sizes (XS-6XL).

5. AOP+
If you’re interested in designing custom varsity jackets only, AOP+ should fulfill your needs. There are 11 color variations for you to choose as some base colors are paired with different secondary colors.
Their varsity jackets come only in seven sizes (XS-3XL) and not all color options are available for all sizes. Bigger sizes are usually more expensive as it comes with a bigger printing area. This is the case on AOP+!
When browsing their website, you can choose between USD, GBP or EUR currency. So if you’re based in any of these countries, you shouldn’t have any problems and doubts when paying for your order.

6. Apliiq
There’s surprisingly a lot of jackets you can customize with Apliiq, about 24 kinds! Their range is quite similar to CustomCat’s but there’s limited color options for each product. Most are available in black only with some having choices for camo green and red.
If you’re looking to design something with multiple base color options, you should go for their coach’s jackets or lightweight windbreakers. There’s at least 13 colors you can choose from plus they’re perfect for both casual and sports settings.
However, sizing options are not standardized as some products are only available up to 3XL while few others are limited to XL/2XL.
Similar to Printful, Apliiq’s clothing line is usually made available for embroidery printing. There’s a one-time digitization fee of $11 on your first order with a new design. You can even add embroidered patches for $2.28 – $4.50 per patch – they’re not embroidered directly on the jacket but sewn into place or ironed on.

Want high quality products and equally great printing? You should check out Contrado’s selection of print on demand jackets. Aside from the usual bomber jackets, you can design kimono jackets, hooded rain jackets and tracksuit jackets.
Contrado’s custom bomber jackets can be customized in four fabric types including water-proof matte fabric, satin, jersey or velvet. Each type of outer fabric comes with a different type of lining to match. You’re definitely getting a lot for the higher price!
Just like Printify, you can customize five areas of the bomber jacket as well as add your own custom sewn-in labels. You’ll need to upload an image or logo for the labels and they will be printed separately on another piece of fabric before being sewn on the jacket.
There’s also a lot of sizing options for their bomber jackets, from XXS to 4XL. It’s a good product for you to design if you’re planning to cater to plus sizes.
Contrado typically ships orders in 1-2 days of ordering and offers express shipping for US addresses as fast as 1-2 days (post manufacturing).

8. Bags Of Love
Like what you see on Contrado but want to source locally in the UK? You should sign up to Bags Of Love, a brand under Contrado that prints and ships orders from London.
Just like Contrado, BOL’s prices are on the higher side but you should expect fast production time and great printing quality. You can pay for your orders in GBP (British Pounds) by accessing their UK website.
Jackets offered on BOL are quite similar to the ones on Contrado. The only difference is that you can create your own custom varsity jackets on BOL or also known as baseball jackets. They also look pretty similar to bomber jackets!
You can choose between three types of fabric when designing the varsity jackets plus pick colors for the ribbing and zip tape to match.

9. Inkthreadable
If your shop is catered to kids’ products and baby clothes, you should consider adding embroidered baby jackets to your catalog. Inkthreadable is probably the only one to offer jackets meant for under three years old and while it’s not much, you should still take it!
Baby clothing is probably one of the best niches to get into for a print on demand store. There’s endless opportunities that comes with a kid’s growth and there’s always room for sustainable POD.
Similar to Printful and Apliiq, Inkthreadable charges a £12 fee for digitization of new designs. You can choose a maximum of six embroidery thread colors (without 3D foam) from their total selection of 32 colors. However, about 16 of them are premium colors where you’ll need to add £0.99 each – sample in image below.
Although Inkthreadable is based in the UK and product prices are displayed in GBP (British Pounds), you can change your preferred currency to other seven currencies they have on their site. This includes USD, Euro, Canadian Dollar and Australian Dollar.

Need to source something on the cheaper side for your clothing business? In most of my POD articles, HugePOD has the best pricing. They’re a lot cheaper than others as orders are printed and shipped directly from China even if you’re only buying a single unit.
Most products on HugePOD are also all over print so you can design the entire product. For jackets, all over printing is only possible for bomber jackets, wind hooded jackets and crop wind jackets.
Although sizing options can be limited, some jackets can be printed in 19 base colors for you to design easily. All you need to do is make the same design in a few different colors to match.
If you plan to order custom jackets in large quantities to sell at a physical store, you can save even more on product cost (up to 20%) by utilizing HugePOD’s tiered bulk discounts.
Aside from the usual fashion jackets, HugePOD offers sports jackets that are made using quick-drying fabric. It would make good sense to sell them alongside custom athletic wear, sports utility bags or yoga clothing.

Another print on demand fulfillment that’s based in Asia and is affordable alongside HugePOD is Merchize.
Even if they only offer four types of jackets, all of them are all-over-print which makes it double worth the price. You get to display your designs on a larger piece of clothing instead of jackets that are embroidered on one section.
Merchize’s jackets are made to be unisex and available in eight sizes (S-5XL). Their high quality sublimation ensures vivid printing colors that won’t fade after multiple washes.
Perhaps, the only thing you need to consider is that most of their products are printed in Vietnam and shipping to the US or Europe may take some time. It shouldn’t be a big problem for you if you’re ordering for yourself and if you’re experienced in managing customer’s expectations on delivery.
Prices include standard shipping only to the US which should take 4-7 business days post production. For orders to Europe, you’ll need to add a minimum of $5 for first item and it can take anywhere between 10-20 days for your jackets to arrive.

If you’re planning to sell print on demand shoes as your main product, I would recommend going with JetPrint. You can then sell their casual jackets as a fashionable wear.
For jackets, JetPrint only has a single type of casual jacket meant for women. It comes with elastic bands for the cuffs and waist which makes it look similar to a bomber jacket. Although it’s not seen in the image below, the jacket has two large front pockets and a zip closure for when feeling chilly.
It’s always wise to stick to a niche or theme for your store when starting out as it helps build credibility and trust among your audience. They’re definitely more incline to purchase from a store that knows what they’re doing and resonates with their taste than one that looks like they’re doing a little bit of everything.

There’s a total of 15 types of jackets you can design with Inkedjoy which includes a selection for women, men and kids. All of their jackets can be designed to be printed all over and prices are even cheaper than the ones you saw on HugePOD.
Compared to HugePOD, you can take advantage of Inkedjoy’s branding services to take your jackets a step ahead. Design your own custom labels, hangtags, packing bags, gift cards and scotch tape to match your brand. The customization fee starts from $2 for one item and increases with the number of clothing in one order that needs to be customized.
Standard shipping to the US would incur a minimum of $7-$10 per product and a delivery time of 7-15 days. This entirely depends on which shipping option you go for from their list of about 11 couriers.

Spreadshirt is probably the only POD marketplace to sell custom jackets. It’s quite similar to Redbubble but has a different mechanism to rewarding artists for each sale they make. So make sure you read T&Cs before proceeding but if anything, there’s no cost to start selling on these sites nor do they have exclusive rights to your designs.
For jackets, there’s only one type you can design and sell directly on Spreadshirt. It comes in two different cuttings for men and women – but offers three colors options for men and only one color choice for women (black).
Their jackets are sourced directly from the professional brand Columbia which is known for their outerwear and sportswear. As a designer or customer, you can order the product for embroidery by uploading an image (SVG, AI) or adding text using Spreadshirt’s tool and choose from 19 thread colors.
Products are printed and shipped from the USA so shipping is fast plus there’s a 30-day return timeframe for you to order samples at normal price and arrange a refund if you don’t want to keep it.

Are you an online content creator that’s planning to sell custom merchandise to your audience? You’ll need a print on demand website that integrates well with social platforms. One that you can use is Spring or also previously known as Teespring.
Compared to other marketplaces, Spring lets you integrate your seller dashboard to social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram for sales. On some of these platforms, your audience will be able to view your catalog directly on your channel or profile.
There’s quite a range of apparel products you can design on Spring as t-shirts and the likes are popular for merchandises. For jackets, they offer printing on bomber jackets, windbreakers and coach jackets. Just like most in this list, Spring offers the most color choices for their coach jackets.

Unlike JetPrint, you can customize bomber jackets for both men and women on InkPOD. However, their price is much higher than what you see on JetPrint and shipping to the US can be quite a lot if you’re ordering just a single unit.
Regardless, I personally feel that InkPOD’s website is easier to use plus you get to download design templates that’s available on each product page. Super handy when you’re customizing all over print products!

- Do research on best selling and trendy designs
- Before making any designs, find out what’s working in the market
- A quick trick is to Google or search for them on Etsy
- Or use keyword research tools like Sale Samurai or Marmalead
- Make your own designs or outsource
- You can make your own designs using Kittl or Canva
- If you want to buy designs, get them on Creative Fabrica or Envato Elements
- Some important things to know are design file sizes and printing layout (if any)
- Sign up for an account with any of the sites I’ve listed above
- You’ll have to create an account with one of the sites I’ve mentioned above to start selling
- Choose one supplier that resonates to you the most with the right products you’ve envisioned for your outerwear business
- Upload designs to products
- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customers!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
- You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g. Etsy or Shopify before you’re able to sell so do that first
- Sync the ready product to your store to start selling them publicly
- Sites like Teespring and Contrado have their own marketplace for you to sell your products – so you don’t need a separate store to use them
- Start selling and repeat!
- Repeat the process and you’ll get some sales with time!
- Increase your chances of success by uploading more quality designs and using professional mockup tools like Placeit
- Consider bringing in traffic to your store with ads (if you’re not selling on a marketplace)
