Although Printify is one of the most famous POD fulfillment site to use and a keychain manufacturer in the USA, most people are unaware of their wide ranging products. Aside from keychains, Printify also prints on accessories like scrunchies, Bluetooth speakers and luggage tags.
They have two types of keychains you can design – rectangle or round frame with printed insert. Both are priced from $6-7 each and you can save even more on product cost by subscribing monthly to Printify Premium. Shipping charges and production times varies for both products as they are sourced from different suppliers.
Here’s a sample of a Printify keychain or keyring tag I created using a design downloaded from Creative Fabrica. I personally did not make the design – all I did was upload the PNG file, scaled it to a proper printing dimension (within the lines) and chose a background color (light pink) via Printify’s dashboard.

If you don’t mind sourcing your products from overseas, Merchize is an amazing fulfillment to consider. The company is based primarily in Vietnam where most orders are shipped from, but also delivers some of their products from China and the USA.
Aside from the usual hard print on demand acrylic keychains, you can also sell stuffed mini pet keychain with Merchize. They’re printed on both sides and made of outer fabric with cotton insert.
Product prices on Merchize are significantly cheaper compared to fulfillments based in the USA, UK and Europe – all under $3 per piece!

Keychains on CafePress are pretty basic but they come in four different shapes! All are made of metal frame with matching keyrings for extra durability. The printed sides are covered by a transparent epoxy layer to protect images from fading and scratches.
CafePress is a POD marketplace like Redbubble but prices are standardized across sellers especially new ones. This reduces competition which I believe is healthy, as it can be overwhelming for beginners to price their products too low just to get sales.

Looking to design more premium keychains? Contrado should be your go-to site! All of their keychains are made of genuine leather or faux leather – its yours to choose but either way, it will look good.
Designs are printed onto a leather piece which comes in a few shapes, which is then attached to a gold or silver metal keyring. As a seller, you can even choose the color of stitching on the printed leather – there’s 5 stitching colors with matching edge paint.
Compared to the normal keychains, Contrado’s leather keychains are printed on both sides which gives it a more luxurious look and feel. You can also pick between a smooth or textured feel for the leather surface!

Though I’m not a fan of the keyring as it does not look the best compared to others, its priced relatively cheap from £4.00 (wholesale) for a double-sided print. Customers can also personalize their purchase with initials, names, dates or photos.

Keychains on Bags Of Love is pretty similar to Contrado’s as they’re both technically the same company. Bags Of Love offers greater personalization to include names or initials which makes the keychains perfect for gifting others.
Similar to Contrado, there’s a choice of gold or silver metal work and you can choose between a cream, red, blue, brown or black thread for the leather finishing. There’s also an option to pick the font and color for embroidered letters!
Products have a fast production turnaround of 1-2 days but shipping is quite expensive if outside the UK. So I would only recommend if you’re selling in the UK and need a UK-based keyring manufacturer.

- Niching down is great to attract the right audience with your print on demand keychain designs
- Some examples would be keychains designed with food, animals or even motivational life quotes
- Focus on your chosen niche for the next 100 designs!
- Do research on best selling and trendy designs
- Before making any designs, find out what’s working in the market
- A quick trick is to Google or search for them on Etsy
- Or use keyword research tools like Sale Samurai or Marmalead
- Make your own designs or outsource
- You can make your own designs using Kittl or Canva
- If you want to buy designs, get them on Creative Fabrica or Envato Elements
- Some important things to know are design file sizes and printing layout (if any)

- You’ll have to create an account with one of the sites I’ve mentioned above to start selling
- Choose one supplier that resonates to you the most with the right products you’ve envisioned for your keychain business
- Upload designs to products
- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customers!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
