Is Shopify Better Than WooCommerce?

Shopify is better than WooCommerce for newbies and beginners with zero experience in website building. An ecommerce store for a digital product business or print on demand is easily created using Shopify’s built-in apps which is much easier for beginners to navigate. For WooCommerce to work, you’ll need a WordPress website with own domain name and hosting.

What Is The Best Print On Demand For WooCommerce?

Most of the best print on demand for WooCommerce are free to join. The decision depends on the type of product you want to sell, product cost, quality of printed products and the prompt service they offer. Printify, Printful, Gelato and Gooten are some of the best POD fulfillment to use with WooCommerce.

4. Printaura

If you take a look at Printaura’s website, you may think they’re one of the first few to offer print on demand online. I won’t blame you! Nevertheless, you can find great reviews online about Printaura and why it can work for you just like Printful. I just don’t think it’s for me – I love everything that’s easy to use and don’t find it so.

  • Advantages
    • All international orders are shipped with USPS First Class for greater service
    • Customers are provided with garment care card in each packaging for easy reference
    • Sellers have the option to add on branding services at additional cost – branded stickers or business cards from $0.25 per order
    • Product templates are downloadable to easily create mockups
    • Costs of products are cheaper than Printful
  • Disadvantages
    • Quite difficult to learn how to use Printaura and its features as interface is quite old and outdated
    • Platform isn’t user friendly for newbies compared to others

5. Prodigi

I love print on demand sites with a complete FAQ section and Prodigi is one of them. There are user guides to everything you need including how to integrate sites, how much profit you can make and info about Brexit (eh?). Although Prodigi doesn’t offer direct seamless integration with WooCommerce like all others in this list, I thought it would still be fair to include them as they actually try to make it easier for you to sell with WooCommerce (link to user guide below).

I also love how they offer free sample packs to new sellers, all you have to do is order them to be shipped to your address – FOR FREE!

  • Advantages
    • New users are able to order a sample pack with 26 print products for free to test and feel
    • Enjoy 50% off for first time purchase of other products to use as samples
    • Quality products ranging from museum like fine art prints to home decor

    • Able to include branded delivery notes for certain products only
    • Unable to accept PayPal for order fulfillments – only cards allowed

6. Art of Where

Compared to others in this list, Art of Where (AOW) is a little different. They let you integrate with ecommerce platforms like Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce, but at the same time lets you sell directly on their website’s marketplace. This is quite similar to selling on POD marketplaces like Redbubble, Teespring, Zazzle, Society6 and Spreadshirt – though I can’t tell you if the results could be the same.

Just like Prodigi, AOW offers sample packs of their best products for you to test though you’ll have to pay for it. It is also one of the few POD companies based in Canada.

  • Advantages
    • Offers wide range of product options in each category e.g. pants have leggings, capris, yoga pants, lounge pants
    • Products are made and shipped from Canada, with option of pick up service at check out (only at Canada office)

    • Sellers are able to sell directly on AOW website by creating an Artist Store
  • Disadvantages
    • Slightly expensive items compared to other POD sites
    • Seller support only available via email which may cause delays in communication and solving issues
    • Sale commissions are fixed if you’re selling on AOW website at 25% for everything and 10% for fabric items

7. Teelaunch

Teelaunch is a favorite among the OGs. It has great products to offer and I find it interesting that they make sports equipment such as footballs and rugby balls. Too bad that these balls are only available for sale within the USA. I do find their site to be quite simple, lacks information for newbies and outdated almost like Printaura.

Nevertheless, it’s yours to judge!

  • Advantages
    • Offers sport equipment for activities like football, rugby ball, soft ball and volley balls
    • Products are printed and shipped from the USA and the UK
    • Wide range of products at competitive prices
  • Disadvantages
    • Website is pretty simple and lacks information

It was mind boggling at first that we're able to make an income online passively in today's world! If you're still feeling that way, know that you're not alone.

That's why, I decided to help others by sharing findings through my own research on today's ecommerce world. When I'm not writing, I'm either running my online biz, traveling, cooking or gardening.
