T-shirts are one of the best-selling products for print on demand. In fact, POD was probably started to make custom t-shirt printing more accessible. Other products came later!
While it might be straightforward to design your own custom t-shirt, it certainly takes a few more important things to master the craft.
In this article, I’ll be sharing 15 white-label sites you can join to create print on demand t-shirts for yourself or your business. To make things easier, I’ve also included a list of t-shirts you can design with these sites and integrations they offer.

Though Printful doesn’t have as many t-shirts as Printify, they have a good range for you to sell. This includes recycled t-shirts, embroidered branded t-shirts and athletic ones. Famous t-shirt options to go for among experienced sellers are the Bella + Canvas 3001 and Gildan selection.
Printful is known for their all-over-print products more so than Printify. This means your designs can cover every inch of the t-shirt’s surface and not just the front center of the t-shirt.
AOP designs give an illusion of high quality printing and premium look. You can price it higher than normal products that are not all-over-printed. For the small price difference and the greater value perceived, customers are sure to make a purchase!

3. Gelato
There aren’t many choices of custom printed t-shirts on Gelato, compared to both Printify and Printful. But if you’re looking to primarily sell high quality t-shirts, they’re one of the best sites to work with.
Gelato’s t-shirts are mostly unisex, making it super easy for you to list products to your store without spending a lot of time. You then get to target all genders without much work! Of course, you’ll have to make gender-neutral designs for unisex wear.
Depending on the type of product, Gelato fulfills orders from 3-7 locations and works with multiple printing partners just like Printify. Sizes are limited to only 3XL for t-shirts so it’s not the best option if you want to target plus sizes.

4. Gooten
Are you an experienced print on demand seller with an existing ecommerce store? Gooten will accept you easily. Though it’s free to join, they’ll ask you details of your experience at the sign up page before accepting you.
Just like Gelato, there’s a good chunk of unisex t-shirts on Gooten. Their Bella + Canvas 3001 is available in 16 colors and eight sizes (up to 4XL). You can design on one side or double side (front & back).
Be sure to download Gooten’s design templates (JPG and PNG) for you to refer to. This ensures your final designs fit perfectly within the designated print areas and not cropped out.

5. Prodigi
If you’re looking for a UK-based fulfillment for custom t-shirts, Prodigi is one of the best and prices are displayed in GBP. They have a wide range of apparel products including baseball shirts, long sleeved shirts and tank tops.
Prodigi’s t-shirt selection is quite similar to Gelato’s and Gooten’s. They also carry the Stanley/Stella line which are mostly unisex, vegan and eco-friendly (as they’re made of 100% organic cotton). Products are shipped from the UK and USA, with the exception of a few that can be shipped from Australia and Canada.
However, bear in mind, not all colors are available from all locations and only DTG printing is available at the moment (no embroidery service).

6. AOP+
Selling primarily in the Europe and want to operate your biz using the Euro currency? AOP+ is a great alternative. Although prices can be displayed in USD/Euros/GBP, their products are made and shipped from the UK.
AOP+ is known for their apparel products and sustainable organic wear. Their organic t-shirts are made of 100% cotton that is natural and can be recycled easily. The major downside is sizes are quite limited!
If you decide to design t-shirts, create matching leggings, dresses or even baby clothing and sell them in the same ecommerce store. Pairing complementary products is a way to increase your average basket size.

7. Teelaunch
Most products on Teelaunch are printed and shipped from the USA – but not everything can be shipped outside of the country. They’re better known for their unique print on demand sports equipment, die-cut metal signs (rare!) and wall flags.
For t-shirts, Teelaunch does not have wide range to offer like others above. However, they have the basic ones including Bella and Gildan collection. If that’s good enough for you, consider selling t-shirts for infants and toddlers with Teelaunch too.

8. Merchize
Merchize’s catalogue doesn’t do much justice for the value it offers. Just like Printful, Merchize has a range of t-shirts and apparels that can be printed all over – and for a much cheaper price!
Some unique t-shirts they offer include reflective t-shirts, flip t-shirts and upside down pocket t-shirts. These are somewhat unusual especially on sites like Etsy, but they should sell well when approaching Halloween or Christmas (gifting!).
The only setback is most products are printed in Vietnam and shipping may take some time. If you’re an experienced seller and used to handle customer’s expectations, this may not be a big problem for you.

9. HugePOD
Similar to Merchize, HugePOD has a pretty unique selection of print on demand t-shirts and at a comparable price. Though shipping charges is separate (unlike Merchize), their t-shirts are well below $17 (except for the premium tee that comes with detachable sleeves)!
HugePOD offers big sizes with most up to 4XL and some up to 5XL. However, you should bear in mind that most POD blank products are sourced from China and size standards can vary. Some can be a perfect fit while others are likely to be smaller than expected so remember to test out!
These snow wash t-shirts are oversized making it suitable for both men and women. A loose fitting t-shirt goes best with a pair of leggings or shorts, plus sneakers for a chic day-to-day look.

Not all sites I’ve listed here offers all-over-print and Yoycol is not one of them. Just like Merchize, most of their products can be printed all-over with some you can print on both sides (front & back).
They even have hoodie t-shirts, an ideal outfit for mixture of hot and cold seasons e.g. spring and autumn. Not everyone likes wearing long sleeved hoodies! It’s also cheaper than HugePOD – ALL their t-shirts are in fact under $17 (excluding shipping).
Though orders are shipped from China, their average production time is faster than most at only 2.5 days and you have multiple shipping options including fast shipping (8-15 days) and express shipping (5-10 days).

Looking for print on demand t-shirt company that’s based in Europe? Shirtee is one worth considering. They have a great selection of custom printed clothing, including hoodies, baby clothes and even embroidered apparel.
For custom t-shirts, Shirtee has a mixture of dip dye, sports jerseys and oversized wear for both men and women. Their basic t-shirts are well under €10 with more premium t-shirts priced around €20.
You’ll also love that more than half of Shirtee’s apparels including athletic wear are eco-friendly – it is a huge priority when selling print on demand in Europe.

12. Apliiq
On white-label fulfillments, t-shirts are usually customized with digital printing and embroidery. On Apliiq, almost everything can be embroidered for a one-time design digitization fee of $11. In fact, their stripe t-shirts can only be embroidered!
Digitizing simply means converting your digital design to a printing format meant for embroidery (as it uses threads instead of ink). Embroidery is generally more expensive than digital printing and for most of Apliiq’s t-shirts, the cost difference is about $4.00 per unit.
While price may be an important element, you should also consider the added value of embroidered products instead of normal printing. Depending on the design, embroidered products usually look a lot more premium and higher quality.

Other than Prodigi, you can also use Inkthreadable – another UK-based print on demand fulfillment. Prices are displayed in GBP (British Pounds) and local regular shipping is just 1-3 days with Royal Mail 24.
If you’re worried about stock levels or had unpleasant experience using other sites before, try filtering for Inkthreadable’s core products (see sample below). Core items are color-specific and have a quicker turnaround – hence, stock is usually available at all times.

Interested in making moisture-wicking t-shirts? There’s a good range of those on CustomCat, including short sleeved, long sleeved and v-necks. Moisture-wicking tees are made using ultra-breathable material and suitable for everyday wear or sportswear, especially in hot summer.
CustomCat has larger sizes for most of their t-shirts – available from XS and up to 4XL. Like most, their best-selling t-shirts are made in various colors to help you fulfill different customer color preferences. I love that there’s a fine line between men’s and women’s products – it makes it easier to understand sizes and meet customer’s specific needs.

Love everything all-over-print? You should consider Subliminator instead of just focusing on Printful. Products are cheaper as items are printed and shipped directly from China. The prices displayed include standard shipping to USA, UK, Germany, Europe, Australia and Canada – just add $2 for the rest of the world.
Subliminator has an incredibly small range of t-shirt collection which is limited to just two types – a pocket tee and a basic tee. Both are made unisex with regular fitting using premium 100% polyester material.
If you’re not looking to design sportswear perse, you can make money designing print on demand t-shirts with sports as the theme or niche. For best AOP results, download the design templates provided on each product page and refer to it while designing.

- Choose a niche for your designs
- Niching down is great to attract the right audience with your print on demand t-shirts
- Some examples would be t-shirts designed with food, cheeky quotes or even abstract images
- Focus on your chosen niche for the next 100 designs!
- Do research on best selling and trendy designs
- Before making any designs, find out what’s working in the market
- A quick trick is to Google, search for them on Etsy or use Merch Informer
- Make your own designs or outsource
- Sign up for an account with any of the sites I’ve listed above
- You’ll have to create an account with one of the sites I’ve mentioned above to start selling
- Choose one supplier that resonates to you the most with the right products you’ve envisioned for your t-shirt business
- Upload designs to products
- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customers!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
- Start selling and repeat!
- Repeat the process and you’ll get some sales with time!
- Increase your chances of success by uploading more quality designs and using professional mockups with Placeit
- Consider bringing in traffic to your store with ads (if you’re not selling on a marketplace)
Bottom Line
Designing every kind of t-shirt there is can be overwhelming, especially for beginners. The key is to start with a single product within the category, get used to selling on ecommerce platforms and later expand to other products.
You can focus on sports t-shirts or baby t-shirts as a start and then make the same kind of designs for adult t-shirts and youth t-shirts. Don’t have to put all your designs on everything in one shot!
However, you’ll have to decide if you want to sell on a POD marketplace or open your first ecommerce store on Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix.
