If you’re new to this site, I share some great tips and guidelines for newbies to start a print on demand side hustle. It’s one of the things I stumbled upon with zero knowledge but think I did quite okay since I made about $13 of profit in the first month! The key is perseverance and consistency!
In this article, I’ll be sharing 21 fulfillment sites you can use to design custom printed mugs and the types of drinkware they offer. To make things easier, I’ve also included their list of integrations and other kitchen products you can sell.

1. Printify
If you’re looking to design and sell a wide selection of mugs, Printify has one of the best catalogs to work with. Compared to others in this list, Printify has over 50 kinds of mugs, putting aside color options and excluding other drinkware like tumblers!
You can choose between 11oz and 15oz mugs to sell. I personally prefer 15oz ones because they’re a good size to avoid visiting the pantry or kitchen too often. However, newer trends favor smaller tinier mugs especially for the aesthetic look.
I would also recommend Printify to new beginners thanks to their catalog and competitive prices – check out my pricing analysis against Printful here. If you decide to expand your biz in the future, there’s multiple ecommerce integrations you can use with Printify – see below.
Here’s a sample of a custom enamel mug I created on Printify using a design from Creative Fabrica. Since it comes with a black edge, a black design would look good on it.

2. Printful
There’s only four types of mugs available on Printful which covers the basic range including enamel mugs (suitable for camping).
In a glance, you can see that mugs are slightly more expensive on Printful compared to Printify. Their 11oz black mugs are $8.95 compared to $6.19 on Printify (even cheaper with Premium subscription).
Printify has a few different price points for the black mug as they source from multiple suppliers. Some even more expensive but you should consider a few other things including the mug’s print area. Designs are printed around to cover the whole area end-to-end on Printful.
Here’s a sample of the dashboard when designing custom mugs on Printful. I added clipart and text fonts from their library. Didn’t require any image to be uploaded – easy!

3. Gelato
If you prefer using Printify for its network of printing providers, you might like using Gelato as well. Both fulfill products in multiple locations all over the world and on Gelato, you can easily see this info when browsing their catalog.
Slightly better than Printful, Gelato has seven mugs to offer including ceramic, porcelain and enamel ones. These comes in varying sizes (10oz, 11oz, 12oz and 17oz) for different uses – 17oz ones are for latte mugs.
Their magic ceramic mugs are printed and shipped from 17 countries worldwide including countries like Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and Sweden. The closer these countries are to your customer’s address, the faster your customer gets their order!
Here’s a sample of Gelato’s White 11oz Ceramic Mug With Yellow Color Inside. I ordered one for myself and placed two designs on both sides just to get the most out of it.
This way, you’ll get to see a different design when holding with your right hand or left hand.
The black outlines for the design is a little faded and looks a bit like dark brown but other than that, everything looks good. Choosing a design that goes with the color inside makes it look nicer!

4. Gooten
If you’re looking to sell enamel mugs suitable for camping and outdoor use, Gooten has something a bit more superior to offer. Their insulated stainless steel mugs are great for keeping drinks hot and it comes with a clear acrylic cover for keeping things out of your drinks (when camping)!
The size is slightly smaller than usual mugs but it should be enough for when you’re out and about. Aside from these, you can design the basic ceramic mugs with Gooten – white, black or accent.
Although it’s free to sign up for a seller account with Gooten, I don’t recommend it for beginners. They require you to fill up a form stating your experience in print on demand and looks to only approve those with a ready POD store.

5. Prodigi
Whether you’re looking to design ceramic mugs, metal mugs or heat activating ones, Prodigi has them all. Their metal travel mugs are much taller in size (16oz), versatile and ideal for both hot & cold drinks. It comes with a top handle built together with the lid to carry drinks easily.
Most products are shipped from the UK and wholesale prices can be enjoyed from as low as £4.25 for large custom ceramic mugs. You can also cross-sell their coasters in your store to increase average order value.
They’re one of the few sites that offers mini sample products for you to test out. It consists of mostly paper products but it’s good to order one just to see if you like the quality.

6. Threadless
If you’re a complete beginner, selling on marketplaces like Threadless is a quick way to start your POD side hustle. Just sign up for an account, upload designs and wait for sales as it happens all in a single site. You don’t need to set up a separate ecommerce store!
There are far lesser product options on marketplaces but they should have the basic ones. Aside from the usual white and black ceramic mugs, Threadless offers V-shaped latte mugs – like the ones in the picture I’ve attached below.
It’s best to blend your designs into the theme of the marketplace as it helps you get sales from the same kind of audience. On Threadless, designs are a little quirky and eccentric – similar to Redbubble later in this list.

7. Redbubble
Compared to Threadless, Redbubble is a more popular POD marketplace to join – it was also the first one I signed up to and made sales with. It is super easy to upload a design to multiple products at once and you can get the whole chore done within minutes.
Redbubble offers classic mugs, latte mugs and travel mugs. These products cater to different uses and targets different audiences.
As someone that works from home and consumes coffee, latte mugs are my go-to. Classic mugs are the usual ones purchased for gifting while travel mugs are best for anyone who’s always on-the-go.

8. CustomCat
There’s quite a range of custom printed mugs you can design with CustomCat, including color-changing mugs and stainless steel ones. Though color-changing mugs aren’t the most preferred item when buying mugs in bulk for a household, they make excellent single gifts for others.
CustomCat also offers almost all their mugs in two sizes – 11oz and 15oz. Slightly better than Printful, CustomCat’s accent mugs come in seven colors including green. For maximum print vibrancy, products are made with ORCA Coating™.

9. Zazzle
Love the idea of selling on a marketplace? But want to offer personalization to customers? Zazzle is one of the marketplaces that allows you to do so.
As seen in the sample picture below, customers can personalize their purchase to include their names or initials and get it printed. Some products can also be personalized by uploading a picture – at no extra cost to the customer.
Every design on their catalog can be printed on a variety of mugs – easily make your choice at the product page. This includes frosted glass mug, two-tone mugs and morphing mugs.

10. Printed Mint
There are over 20 types of mugs you can sell with Printed Mint. I personally find the glass mugs and travel mugs to be a cute fit for younger audiences. They look good, can easily be stored in small spaces and serves the purpose.
Unlike others, Printed Mint also offers custom packaging where you can customize product labels, colors of crinkle paper (that goes into a box) and ribbon styles. These are amazing add-ons for mugs since they’re usually purchased for gifting.
Printed Mint is one of the suppliers on Printify but not all their products can be found on Printify’s catalog. So, if you want to sell their unique mugs like the ones down below, you’ll have to source it directly from their site.

11. Bags Of Love
Looking for a POD company that uses GBP (British Pounds) as their main currency? Bags Of Love is for you. Prices are slightly expensive than others but it comes with superb printing quality and fast shipping times for the UK.
Unlike their other categories, BOL doesn’t have much to offer for mugs. However, they’re the only one that sells tea cups with saucer (image below) – available in singles, 2 or 4 packs. Speaking from experience, these make an elegant wedding gift – I gifted my best friend a tea set as well!
You can sell directly on Bags Of Love and avoid the hassle of setting up a standalone ecommerce store or connect via Shopify using Contrado (their parent company).

As the parent site of Bags Of Love, Contrado carries most of the products you see on BOL. However, prices are displayed in USD and they’re more focused on serving US-based audience.
Compared to BOL, there’s only four types of mugs you can design with Contrado, which excludes the tea set. Their custom bone China mug comes in three sizes (S, M & L) and designs are printed in full length. Sell them as a single, or in packs of six and consider adding your own logo to the base of each mug.
Contrado typically ships orders in 1-2 days of ordering and offers express shipping for US addresses as fast as 1-2 days (post manufacturing).

Other than Prodigi and Bags Of Love, you can also use Inkthreadable – another UK-based print on demand fulfillment. Product prices are displayed in GBP (British Pounds) and their local regular shipping is just 1-3 days with Royal Mail 24.
If you have worries on stock levels or had unpleasant experience with stock shortages before, it’s assuring to know that all mugs are core products on Inkthreadable. This is easily identified on the top right corner label of product pictures like the sample below.
Core items are color-specific and have a quicker turnaround – hence, stock should be available at all times. Inkthreadable offers mugs covering the basic ranges like enamel mugs, color-changing mugs and two-tone mugs.

Looking for something on the cheaper side? HugePOD offers two types of print on demand mugs and prices them reasonably under $6 excluding shipping. Unlike their other products I wrote on before, these two mugs only comes in a single base color (white/black).
Their black matte color-changing mugs are coated with glitter and comes with a unique heart-shaped handle – image down below. If you decide to sell your designed mugs at a physical store or booth, consider utilizing HugePOD’s bulk discounts and save up to 20% off normal prices.

Another site to check out alongside HugePOD is Merchize. Their custom printed mugs are unique and affordable! Sourcing cheaper products lets you price competitively against competitors while still enjoying a sizeable profit margin.
Merchize’s mugs collection includes accent mugs, enamel campfire mugs and a set of heart-shaped mugs (comes in two). The heart-shaped mug sets are great products to focus on during Valentine’s season and/or if your main niche is gifting.
The only thing to consider is most products are printed in Vietnam and shipping may take some time. If you’re an experienced seller and used to handle customer’s expectations, this may not be a big problem for you.

16. Teepublic
There are only two types of mugs you can design with Teepublic which are coffee mugs or travel mugs. Travel mugs costs $10 more compared to regular coffee mugs as it comes with lid and much larger in size.
It is good to know that while both products are top-shelf dishwasher safe, only the coffee mugs are microwave safe. If you don’t have a niche in mind yet, designing custom mugs with occupations is a great option – like the ones down below!
Similar to Redbubble and other marketplaces above, your designs can be uploaded to multiple products. Other products carrying the same design are promoted right under every product page.

17. Teelaunch
If you’re interested in selling rare kitchen products alongside your custom mugs, Teelaunch is one of the best bets. They have four types of wooden chopping boards you can engrave your designs on, as well as serving ware such as wooden platters, plates and bowls.
For mugs, you can find the usual white ceramic mugs, black mugs, magic mugs and enamel mugs on Teelaunch. Though it’s not very interesting and similar to others in this list, it just proves that you only need a handful products to focus on to succeed!

18. JetPrint
There’s only a single type of mug you can sell with JetPrint. Though it might seem expensive in a glance, their ceramic coffee mug has 20oz capacity much larger than others. Aside from this mug, you can also sell their tumblers in your POD store.
JetPrint is better known for their wide range of footwear. If you’ve not decided on selling mugs and still considering alternatives, choosing JetPrint is a great option for custom printed shoes.
Remember, focusing on selling one niched product will always make your small mighty brand look more professional.

19. InkedJoy
Still searching for even cheaper custom mugs? InkedJoy should be your go-to. At least six of their mugs are priced under $4 (excluding shipping) and all 10 of their mugs can be printed all-over.
Three of their slightly more expensive mugs ($13-$18) are shipped within the USA for free as they’re printed in the same country.
Other mugs are all shipped from China and though shipping cost is reasonable, you will need to work with longer delivery times and learn how to handle customer’s expectations.

20. Spreadshirt
Spreadshirt is a marketplace like Redbubble and all the ones I’ve listed above but it rewards artists differently. For better or for worse, it’s for you to decide as we all have different income appetites.
For mugs, Spreadshirt offers the usual ceramic mugs, black mugs and travel mugs. I personally like the panoramic mugs as landscape designs can be uploaded to fill the whole surface area from one end to another.
All of their mugs are printed and shipped from the USA so shipping is fast if you’re selling mainly to US-based audience. There’s a 30-day return timeframe for you to easily order samples at normal price and get a refund if you don’t like it.

21. Teespring (Spring)
If you’re an online content creator looking to sell your own custom mugs but don’t have the time to make it, consider selling print on demand merchandise instead. You can make designs on your own to fit your personal brand or hire others online to design for you (tips down below).
Compared to other marketplaces, Teespring or Spring lets you integrate your seller dashboard to social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram for sales. Their catalog is somewhat limited for mugs but you can still design the basic white and black ceramic mugs.
Order your own merchandise, promote the use in your content then include links to it in the description. With Teespring’s social media integration, customers can view your catalog directly on your channel or profile to purchase them directly.

How To Start Selling Print On Demand Mugs
- Choose a niche for your designs
- Niching down is great to attract the right audience with your print on demand mugs
- Some examples would be mugs designed with food, patterns or even motivating short quotes to start the day
- Focus on your chosen niche for the next 100 designs!
- Do research on best selling and trendy designs
- Before making any designs, find out what’s working in the market
- A quick trick is to Google, search for them on Etsy or use Merch Informer
- Make your own designs or outsource
- You can make your own designs if you have the skills and time for it using tools like Kittl
- If you don’t have both, consider outsourcing to designers on sites like Fiverr, Creative Fabrica or 99designs
- Some important things to know are design file sizes and printing layout (if any)
- Sign up for an account with any of the sites I’ve listed above
- You’ll have to create an account with one of the sites I’ve mentioned above to start selling
- Choose one supplier that resonates to you the most with the right products you’ve envisioned for your drinkware business
- Upload designs to products
- Uploading designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
- Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
- Set a suitable profit margin for each product
- On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
- A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
- This excludes shipping charges to customers!
- Sync them to your ecommerce store
- You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g. Etsy or Shopify before you’re able to sell so do that first
- Sync the ready product to your store to start selling them publicly
- Sites like Redbubble, Zazzle and Threadless have their own marketplace for you to sell your products – so you don’t need a separate store to use them
- Start selling and repeat!
- Repeat the process and you’ll get some sales with time!
