1. Digital planners
Journaling is a great self-care habit and one I fail at miserably. We all have times where we would misplace our physical journals and not bring it with us. Things are different if it had been an iPad – we would have it with us 24/7, no doubt.
Digital planners are great products for this reason. You can make them specifically for apps like Goodnotes. To be able to create and sell Goodnote themes, you would need to have the app yourself as it can only be built internally within the app then exported as files for sales on Etsy.
2. Product mockups
Etsy is the haven for e-commerce. Unlike Amazon where products are greatly commercialized and sold in great quantities, Etsy remains close knit and tailored. Shoppers also have a better eye at choosing what to buy next. One of the best ways print on demand sellers build product trust and appeal to the market is by having great mockup photos. There are websites offering mockup services but it can be pricey with limited options.
You can sell photos of items where sellers’ designs can be superimposed onto it making them look natural. This way sellers have an increasing number of stock and greater choices to create their mockups. Product mockups are best for items that will be printed e.g. t-shirts, mugs, leggings, notebooks and wall art.
If you didn’t know, print on demand products can be sold on Etsy! Find out the 5 easy steps to get started.
3. Digital stickers
We can use some cute digital stickers for our notetaking moments. If you’re looking to sell digital planners, consider making digital stickers as well. Of course, you would need some experience making digital art to create a good looking artsy sticker but it isn’t necessary. We have an example down below – a simple illustration with typography can sell well too!
Stickers are best sold in a bundle to give greater value to your buyers. You can also charge more this way and earn higher revenue per sales made!
4. Instagram templates
Building a brand is no easy feat, especially when competing with bigger names and newer virals. Most brands need a cohesive look for their social media be it on Instagram, TikTok or even Twitter. For micro business owners, it gets tough to get ahead when juggling so many things at once. It works to lift some weight off their social media manager by getting readymade Instagram posting templates off Etsy!
If you’re good with Canva, this is a doable digital product for you to sell on Etsy. Canva allows you to share links directly for others to copy or download. Your customers can get to work ASAP! No more hassle to plan and design, they can put greater focus on what matters most – getting sales.
5. Excel budget templates
Financial literacy has been a hot topic among millennials. To build the life we want and do the things we love, we’re often told to reduce expenses, increase income and ultimately live below our means. Not everyone can grasp that easily and needs a clearer overview of how much moolah is going where. Speaking for myself, I keep tabs on how much I spend daily using Google Sheets. To be honest, I didn’t have enough time to create my own template so I got a simple one from a financial blogger.
If you’re good at Excel, consider creating budget templates for others to use. Remember that most people aren’t good with numbers. You can appeal to them visually with a nice dashboard made of graphs and pie charts – this may resonate with them better.
6. Clipart
If you’re an artist yourself with great skills for making digital art, consider selling clipart on Etsy. While it can be time-consuming to produce these unique products, you can make a lot as a seller due to its high demand allowing you to price nicely as well. Remember everyone can design but not everyone can draw digital art! Etsy sellers themselves may need clipart for their products. With clipart, you can appeal to all kinds of niches depending on what you draw best.
7. Lightroom mobile presets
I am not much of a social media user and spend most of my time building my online business. Nevertheless, I do admire social media accounts where there’s a great cohesive theme for photos uploaded. It’s one of the more popular strategies for personal branding today among influencers and brands. If you are a social media influencer yourself or a user of Lightroom, you can make and sell Lightroom presets for others to purchase and apply to their photos.
Depending on the feel that you want to go for, most common vibes for presets include warm, cool, natural and soft. You can also tailor presets to match a certain color scheme for a unique look. Download the Lightroom app on your mobile phone via Apple’s App Store or Google Playstore.
Bottom Line
If you’re new to Etsy and thinking of making money with digital products, there’s so many cool things you can make. It really depends on your expertise and if you have any experience making things for yourself. Don’t stretch yourself too thin and start small. Not everyone starts out as a genius, you can be surprised that most had to figure things themselves too, just like you!
The 7 top selling digital products I have listed above is just a guideline for you to see there’s ample room for another NEW seller to succeed.
Quick Tip: I believe that the best way to learn is to replicate then innovate – do what’s already successful and later make it unique to you. Goodluck!
