9 Reasons Why You Need A Blogging Coach

1. You don’t know how to start

So you thought of starting a blog but unsure how to create one? It’s okay, a lot of people didn’t know how to in the beginning. I personally had to read a lot of articles and watched countless YouTube videos before finally creating Passive Marketeer. I didn’t know what tool to use for writing content and didn’t know how to plan ahead for my blog. This severely slowed down my motivation to write – I couldn’t wrap myself around it and felt overwhelmed.

Do you know why I felt that way? It’s because of a bad experience I had a year prior which traumatized me and made me think blogging is a scam. Read below.

My Rookie Mistake

I was already interested in blogging a year prior to creating Passive Marketeer. It was the first time I found out about blogging through Wealthy Affiliate. I had zero knowledge of the blogging world and regretted joining. It was expensive to keep up as I was unemployed and had not made any money from blogging. I highly do not recommend it for newbies or just anyone. You also have no access to your blog if you quit their subscription. I bought a domain and didn’t have access to it for the rest 11 months. It should not be that way! I now own 100% of Passive Marketeer with proper hosting and no one can take it away from me.

Truth is you don’t need expensive fancy tools everyone recommends you to get. Blogging is possible with almost zero investment into it. The only thing I spend on now is the yearly hosting fees. That’s the beauty of blogging, it’s practically a free hobby or profession to start.

I reignited my blogging interest after stumbling upon a blogging coach on Instagram (I was looking for ways to make online passive income) and have not looked back since. If you had a real blogging coach, you wouldn’t need to go through what I did and don’t have to waste another year figuring it out. Spare yourself!

2. You don’t know how to grow

If you have had your blog for a while now and are feeling stuck, a blogging coach can help you realign and recharge. It’s easy to get lost in a sea of internet options and lose sight of your initial vision. You don’t always have to stick to what you planned in your early stages but it’s important to have something to work towards every step of your journey.

Assess where you are right now and where you want to be in a year’s time. Smaller goals are more manageable than big unattainable ones. I’m guilty of this too so I started breaking down goals in a 12 month timeline.

A blog has endless opportunities in getting greater exposure and ultimately greater income. You might have ideas for article collaborations, creating digital products or growing traffic with social media BUT clueless how and where to start doing so. Having a blogging coach can help you with all these, provided they have the on-hands experience! It’s sad to know some people still lie about their experiences to make a quick buck.

3. It’s a lonely journey

Professional blogging is a lonely journey. If you’re doing it right, you’re most probably writing on a daily basis whether it’s during your time off from work or you’re pursuing this full time (I am!). As a full-time blogger, I work remotely from home away from people. This means that I don’t see new people on a daily basis and have no one else to talk to except my cats – I really do have breakfast with them every morning.

If you’re new to blogging, which I believe you are, you will find it a little difficult to adapt especially if you have always worked with colleagues. You have to accept that the journey will be a lonely one and it’s alright – this is completely normal for everyone. I would occasionally share some of my work thoughts to my partner and family members just to let things out but most of the time, they don’t understand what I’m doing – it then gets tiring to explain.

This is one of the top reasons why you need a blogging coach. I’m happy that one of my blogging coaches shares to her audience on a daily and weekly basis. It really gets me going to feel like I’m not alone in this!

4. It takes time

Blogging may sound easy to many but professional blogging (one where you expect to make money) is not. It takes time to see your first dollar. Not because you’re undeserving of it, it’s just because it takes time for your content to be in front of others even if you click “Publish” today. Generally, a lot of people have shared that it takes them roughly two years for them to make a good income. Listening to my blogging coach, I am aiming for at least 12 months to see some traffic – this is true as long as I follow what she has taught and regularly publish quality content.

She mentioned that we should aim for our first 100 articles and then expect to make $1,000 per month from it – we’ll see! Guidelines like these are what keeps me moving. Until I’ve reached the 100 article mark, I can’t settle or give up. At 100 articles, it would also be a shame to give up! Just keep going and tell yourself not to expect anything till then.

5. Everyone started clueless

The thing about starting something new and exploring the unknown is that you think you’re alone – you’re not! I know it can get hectic to discover things on your own and often, you will feel like giving up. In those hard times, just remind yourself that everyone started not knowing what they were doing and if they’re doing it right.

By getting yourself a blogging coach and tapping into their knowledge, you will understand that they had their own rough patches as well, their moments of hardship when they wanted to give up on their blogging dreams. They just persevered! That’s not the case with most people – a lot of us give up at the first try and first hint of hardship. If you feel like you’re one of them, you need a blogging coach.

6. You need to believe and be inspired

You’ll soon realize that believing in your dream is all it takes to succeed. Believe that you’ll achieve your financial goals with blogging. My blogging coach makes about $10,000 from her first blog (in an assortment of income streams). She quitted her high paying banking job, spent a few years freelancing and traveling – she was living the broke life but eventually made it with blogging.

Getting stories and perspectives like these is what makes me believe that hard work does pay off. You don’t have to do the exact things she does but just learn from it and open your eyes to the world of online money abundance!

7. You need to rank for traffic

One of the reasons you need an experienced blogging coach is because you need your articles to rank on Google FAST. Waiting 12 or 24 months is not an easy feat but you can get your articles to rank faster on Google with implementing the right SEO. Let me tell you that it isn’t cheap to learn SEO and people won’t teach you for free – it’s their articles or yours that gets on the first page of Google.

Chances are once you have a blogging coach, you also get to learn SEO from them. What I would do if I’m on a tight budget is to purchase an overall blogging course or coaching and then observe the SEO tips that are provided along the way. Take notes even if they sound like the simplest thing to you because it can actually be quite simple as having the right subheadings.

I know you want to consider other ways of getting traffic to your blog. If you’re a total rookie, there’s a high chance you’re spending hours promoting your links on Facebook or Instagram and later get disappointed at the little amount of traffic generated from these social websites. I recommend that you shift your focus to Pinterest instead. If you’re clueless on how to make Pinterest templates, these are easy to work with, impactful and too pretty to resist.

8. You want to earn ASAP

One of the biggest worries I had was not being able to earn from my blog since I was no longer working for anyone else. I was determined to make an income from blogging. But the opportunity to make money on your own outside a corporate job felt odd and farfetched, what more from your own website? When no one else knows the existence of it? Do you feel the same sometimes?

Earning from your blog is not as straightforward as ABC. It’s not just about placing advertisement banners, inserting affiliate links, selling products or getting paid for sponsored posts. There’s some science to it and I urge you to learn from people who were already successful doing it. It will save a lot of your time, not needing to trial and error. This will help you to earn from your blog as soon as possible. Trust me, you will want to especially after putting in months of work.

You need to be paid! Are you aware of your blog’s earning potential?

9. Latest Google updates

My blogging coach regularly talks about all the Google updates that affected her blog traffic and income. If I were a total newbie, I would have never known that was possible. Who would have thought Google has an algorithm of its own like a social media app? I wouldn’t! The great news is that she always fixes her blogs and articles after each Google update which allows her to earn even more. Super cool to know that it is possible to turnaround your business like that.

If you’re just starting out like I was, there’s 1001 things to think about and you’re itching to learn. If I’m being honest, a Google update isn’t top of your list but it is important. No one will give you a heads up of what Google likes or does not like. But I’m pretty sure a blogging coach will share what they know about it. So what are you waiting for?

Hey there! Abby here - the founder of Passive Marketeer and also the main writer on the site. My love for ecommerce and online marketing was something I found through my 9-5 sales job. It was mind boggling at first that we're able to make an income online passively in today's world! If you're still feeling that way, know that you're not alone.

That's why, I decided to help others by sharing findings through my own research on today's ecommerce world. When I'm not writing, I'm either running my online biz, traveling, cooking or gardening.
